ED registered FEMA case on BBC

Amaravati: The Enforcement Directorate of Foreign Exchange (ED) Management Act has registered a case against British media house BBC India for violating foreign exchange norms. ED has summoned some company executives to record their statements as per FEMA norms. The details related to this have been disclosed by the official sources of E.D. on Thursday. They disclosed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will investigate the foreign direct investment violations committed by the company. The officials have taken these steps based on the survey conducted by the ED in February this year in Delhi-Mumbai BBC works. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said that there are differences in the revenue figures shown by the BBC news agency. The details provided by the Income Tax officials and BBC employees were extracted through digital evidence documents. It has been revealed that there are many differences and inconsistencies regarding transfer of documentation and prices.
