Induction of C-295 transport aircraft into Indian Air Force

Amaravati: Another medium-range transport aircraft C-295 was inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Hindon Airbase on Monday. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh organized a ‘Sarvadharma Puja’ program at the hangar. (IAF) Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary, IAF officers along with senior officials from Airbus were present.. On September 20, the C-295 flight landed at Vadodara in Gujarat and on Monday, puja programs were held. These planes were handed over to the Air Force in Spain.

For the collection of these planes with the company Airbus Defense and Space Rs. 21,935 crore deal was done.. Out of a total of 56 C-295 transport aircraft, 16 aircraft will be manufactured and delivered by Airbus.In October last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the C-295 aircraft manufacturing center in Vadodara. The 40 aircraft will be manufactured and assembled by Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) as part of an industrial partnership between the two companies.Production of these aircraft parts has already started in Hyderabad.
This is the first military aircraft plant to be manufactured in India under the auspices of a private consortium. This aircraft will carry 71 army personnel and 50 paratroopers. C-295 aircraft can easily move munitions and soldiers to areas where large transport aircraft cannot go.
