Meteorological department issued severe warnings on the intensity of Cyclone Biparzoi

Amaravati: Due to Cyclone Biparjoy, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Gujarat and Maharashtra, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the city of Mumbai. It has been announced that winds will blow at a speed of 150 km per hour and there will be heavy to very heavy rains. State governments have moved 10 thousand people living in low lying areas to safer areas due to severe warnings from the Meteorological Department. Around 80 train services have been canceled at Mumbai International Airport due to the effect of the typhoon.
Cyclone Bipaparjoy, centered about 300 km west-southwest of Porbandar, is likely to cross the coast on Thursday. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the Saurashtra and Kutch coasts of Gujarat as the cyclone will be very severe while crossing the coast and the authorities should take special precautions. The typhoon spread between Mandvi in Gujarat and Karachi in Pakistan will make landfall at Jakhow port in Gujarat.. Since 1965, 13 cyclones have formed in the Arabian Sea. Two of these crossed the coast of Gujarat. One crossed the coast of Maharashtra.. the other crossed the coast of Pakistan.. Another 3 crossed the coast at Oman-Yemen. Another 6 weakened and ended up in the sea. Cyclone Biparjoy which started on 6th of this month will cross the coast on 15th. The typhoon, which has already completed 8 days and 12 hours, will have an impact for two more days.
