Flash floods in Assam

Amaravati: As Cyclone Biparjoy crossed the coast, South-West Monsoon has started to exert its influence, Guwahati in Assam, Sikkim received heavy rains at once.
The people of 77 villages in 11 districts are in trouble due to floods caused by sudden rains. Also around 2 thousand tourists are stuck in different areas..
Due to heavy rains, landslides occurred in many areas and roads were severely damaged in many areas. Lachung and Lachen areas were badly affected by the heavy rains. Officials believe that around 1,975 domestic tourists and 36 foreign tourists are trapped in these areas. Officials said that relief teams have been deployed to move the victims to safe places.
