NIA searches in 10 states in connection with human trafficking cases

Amaravati: NIA officials are conducting searches in 10 states in connection with human trafficking cases across the country. As part of this, these searches are being conducted in states like Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Haryana, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir. NIA officials are coordinating with the local police in the respective states and are carrying out thorough checks at the residences of the suspects.
Searches are being conducted at around 50 places in 10 states to unearth the mafia racket which is involved in human trafficking by establishing relations in the international mafia. These checks are being done as there is information that the youth are being illegally transported by believing that legal documentation will be arranged for them to immigrate to Canada, employment opportunities and other benefits will be provided. The NIA officers of Bangalore Division have arrested Imran Khan, who is smuggling Sri Lankans to many parts of Bengaluru and Mangalore. According to the information obtained from him, it is known that the NIA officials are conducting these searches.
