The state is likely to receive heavy rains in the next 3 days-meteorological department

Amaravati: Amaravati Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of heavy rains in the state in the next three days. It said that the low pressure over the west-central Bay of Bengal has decreased in intensity but a surface circulation of 3.1 km is continuing over the surrounding areas over Coast Andhra. Due to this effect, there are indications of moderate to heavy rains in North Coast and South Coast Andhra districts of the state as well as in Rayalaseema districts. It is also said that there is a possibility of heavy rains in some areas. People have been warned to be alert, especially in the southern coastal districts of Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore and other parts of the country. Due to heavy rains in many parts of the state since yesterday, ponds and rivers are overflowing. Due to the rains on the day of Dussehra, people in different areas are suffering a lot. Kurnool, Guntur and Machilipatnam areas were flooded due to heavy rains.
