Typhoon Remal to cross the coast-Prime Minister Modi’s emergency meeting

Amaravati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an emergency meeting in the context of Cyclone Remal becoming more severe and hitting the coastal areas of Bangladesh and West Bengal on Sunday night. Disaster Management Department officials, NDRF and Navy officials reviewed the necessary advance arrangements to avoid the severity of the storm.
He ordered to take proper precautions to prevent loss of life. The weather department has warned that winds of 110 to 120 kilometers per hour will blow at the coast of Remal, and their speed will be up to 135 kilometers per hour. In West Bengal, it is predicted that heavy to very heavy rains will occur in the Coastal district and in the surrounding areas of Kolkata. As part of advance arrangements, NDFR Team was deployed in Hasnabad village of West Bengal. 394 flights from Kolkata airport were suspended for 21 hours.
