Violation of election code of conduct should be ensured-Collector

Nellore: District Collector M. Harinarayanan has directed the returning officers to take pre-emptive measures to prevent political clashes and riots after the elections in the district. On Tuesday, the district collector held a review meeting with the officials on the election code of conduct and counting process. On this meetign, the Collector said that the Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers in the district should be alert for the next 13 days and complete the election process successfully.

In the district, every officer should be vigilant by conveying information to the lower level staff so that political clashes do not occur at the field level. He said that the Election Commission is serious about political clashes. At mandal level, tehsildars should go and visit the villages jointly with the police officers. The Collector directed the officers to take steps to resolve every complaint that there are complaints about the elections in the district. The returning officers should visit the election strong rooms in the district every day.
