Worship can be done in basement of Gnanavapi-High Court dismisses mosque committee’s petition
AMARAVATI: The Allahabad High Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking a stay of orders allowing Hindus to perform pujas at the ‘Vyas Tehkhana’ in the Gyanwapi Complex (basement). Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal announced the judgment of the Allahabad High Court. Justice Aggarwal said, “After examining the entire record of the case, the arguments of the respective parties have been taken into consideration. On January 17, 2024, the then District Judge DM, Varanasi, made it clear that the court found no reason to interfere with the judgment given by the receiver. of the property and as per the order dated 31st January 2024, the District Court has allowed puja in the Tehkhana.
“The judge dismissed the petitions filed by the Muslim side against the district judge’s order, and the puja will continue as is,” Prabhash Pandey, a lawyer representing the Hindus, told the media after the court’s order.
