Bulk SMS ban from 48 hours before MLC election campaign-Collector

Nellore: In view of the MLC elections being held in the district on 13th of this month, District Collector and District Election Officer K.V. Chakradhar Babu said. The instructions issued by the Election Commission of India prohibiting the sending of objectionable bulk SMS (Short Message Services) must be followed. He said that any violation of bulk SMS sent by political parties and contesting candidates as part of the election campaign will be seriously considered as an election offence and appropriate action will be taken as per the relevant provisions of election laws under Section 126 of the Representation of the People Act 1951. All the mobile service providers in the state must strictly follow the instructions and instructions of the Election Commission of India while providing paid bulk SMS services to the users. Election observers, returning officers and MCC teams should pay special attention to ensure that the instructions and instructions of the Election Commission of India are strictly implemented regarding the sending of bulk SMS by political parties and contesting candidates by their agents.
