ED steps into the bribery case of MLA Madal Virupaksappa’s son
Amaravathi: The bribery case of BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa’s son of Channagiri Constituency, Davanagere District, and Bangalore has taken a new turn. ED has sent an e-mail to the Lokayukta of Karnataka to inform you about the details of the case registered by you against the illegal money found in the bribery case. It is known that after the complete collection of bribe information, the Lokayukta officials will provide the information to the ED along with the preliminary investigation report of the case. Along with MLA Madal Virupakshappa, his son Prashant also has to answer to the ED with the Lokayukta report.
Background of Bribery:- Prashant Madal demanded Rs. 80 lakhs from the contractor who expected a tender for a big work. Lokayukta police caught him red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs.40 lakh. After that, the Lokayukta officials who inspected the house found money everywhere, about Rs. 8 crores. Prashant Madal, his cousin Siddesh, accountant Surendra, Nicholas Gangadhar, who came to pay the money, was detained by Lokayukta officials in connection with this case. The five arrested persons were produced before the court and ordered to be sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
