Fatal accident in Vijayawada APSRTC Depot, 3 killed

Amaravati: A fatal accident took place in Vijayawada on Monday at 8.30 am. Three people were killed and many were seriously injured when the bus rammed into platform number 12 at Pandit Nehru bus stand. Passengers at the bus stand said that the Metro luxury bus going from Vijayawada to Guntur crashed into a flat farm due to brake failure. Booking clerk Veeraiah, a woman named Kumari and a 10-month-old child Ayunsh were among the dead. Passengers waiting for the bus at the bus stand said that this accident took place when the driver and the bus were in first gear instead of reverse gear. Or has the brake failed? No one understands that.. When the bus comes out of the depot, it is brought to the bus complex only after the fitness check. But many are expressing doubts about the brake failure.
MD Dwaraka Tirumala Rao:- He said that it is unfortunate that the accident took place, and Rs. 5 lakh will be given to the families of those who died in the accident under ex gratia. He said that the incident is being investigated and action will be taken after receiving the report.
