Green signal for bullet train project

Amaravati: The Bombay High Court has given a green signal to the bullet train project to be built between Mumbai and Ahmedabad and said that this is the dream project of the country. Bullet train is of national importance, public interest. The Bombay High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Godrej and Boyce against the land acquisition initiated by the Maharashtra government and NHSRCL in Mumbai’s Vikhroli area. The court observed that these projects are of national importance and are for public welfare. It said that this project is unique and public interest will be prioritized over private interests. It seems that the railway department will start the project work soon. Of the total 508.17 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad rail line, around 21 km has been planned by the authorities to be underground. The state government has informed the court that it has paid compensation of Rs.264 crore to the company in October last year.
