Hyderabad: On the occasion of Vijayadashami, Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief KCR passed a unanimous resolution in the party general meeting to change the name of the party from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). All the members passed the resolution moved by the party executive committee changing TRS to BRS. In the afternoon, CM KCR announced the name of the BRS party. Later, they signed the application documents to be submitted to the Election Commission seeking to change the name of the party. CM KCR, who spoke in the general meeting, announced the emergence of BRS party. Janata Dal (S) leader and former Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy also participated in the programme. It was described as a turning point in the 21-year-old TRS reign. KCR made this announcement in the presence of several state leaders who attended the meeting.
