No evidence required for exchange or deposits of Rs 2 thousand notes-SBI

Amaravathi: State Bank of India (SBI) has informed that no ID proof is required for exchange of Rs.2000 notes or deposit in the account in SBI Bank. Also, Sunday stated that there is no need to fill any kind of proform or slip. To this extent, SBI has issued guidelines to all its branches. It states that notes of Rs 2,000 up to Rs 20,000 can be deposited or exchanged in a bank account without any identity card or proforma. SBI has responded as above in the background of false information spreading on social media that for depositing or exchanging Rs.2,000 notes in banks, one has to submit identification documents like Aadhaar card and fill a proforma.
