Rs 25 crore cash unearthed in ED raids in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand
Amaravati: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers conducted a series of raids in several areas of Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, on Monday. In these raids, around Rs.25 crore cash unaccounted for was identified and seized. A case of money laundering has been registered after receiving information about irregularities in the implementation of some schemes in Jharkhand Rural Development Department. ED arrested Chief Engineer of Rural Development Department Virendra Ram in February 2023 in this case. In connection with this case, the ED officials conducted a series of raids in about 10 areas of Ranchi on Monday. 70-year-old Alamgir Alam is a Congress leader and represents the Pakur seat in the Jharkhand Assembly and is the Rural Development Minister.
Alam (PA) Sanjeev Lal Naukar’s house was found with piles of cash. At present, ED officials are continuing to search in other areas.
