Traffic between Vijayawada-Hyderabad is likely to subside completely by Saturday
Amaravati: Vehicular movement between Hyderabad and Vijayawada has been severely disrupted. NTR district Nandigama mandal near Aitavaram, the flood flow which started from Thursday is continuing on National Highway 65. The police stopped the traffic as the flood flow could not be controlled. In the backdrop of heavy rains in Telangana, 1,92,000 cusecs of flood water came from Khammam to Munneru river. Vijayawada Police Commissioner Kantirana Tata inspected the Muneru flood situation at Aithavaram.. Many instructions were given to the staff on relief measures. The commissioner said that the vehicles were stopped on this road from Thursday afternoon and the traffic was diverted through other routes from Thursday night. It is known that the flood has reduced a little near Khammam, and the flood flow has reduced a little on Friday compared to Thursday. He said that there is a possibility that the flood will subside completely by Saturday, and the Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway will be restored only after assessing the situation.
