Chicken ban in Nellore city – bird flu virus is spreading-nellore news.

Nellore: In view of the spread of bird flu virus in the district, as per the orders of District Collector Harinarayanan and City Corporation Commissioner Vikas Marmat, Corporation Health Officer Dr.Venkata Ramana has requested that the chicken shops should be closed voluntarily and people should not eat chicken-based food items. He inspected the chicken market near the small market along with the officials on Saturday. Stored chicken was confiscated and shops were closed. The doctor warned that no one should buy or sell chicken until further orders are received from the district authorities. He said that sale of chicken in hotels, restaurants, bars and curry points has been banned. It is suggested to use meat products like fish, mutton and prawns as food instead. Dr. Venkata Ramana warned that strict action will be taken against shops, hotels and restaurants violating the above orders. Health Department Supervisors, Seshaiah, Surendranath, Inspectors, Secretariat Sanitation Secretaries and staff participated in these inspections.
