Important orders of High Court on appointments of AP Sub-Inspector of Police

Amaravati: The High Court has given a key direction on the appointment of Sub-Inspector of Police in Andhra Pradesh. The candidates who appeared for the exams approached the court claiming that they were treated unfairly in the matter of measuring the height of the candidates. Petitioner’s lawyer Shravan Kumar filed an affidavit that the person who had previously worked as a reserve sub-inspector was also rejected as he was not tall enough. The lawyer explained to the High Court that all the petitioners were ready to comply with the orders of the High Court that they would take the height of all the candidates in his presence. The advocate said that arguments were previously made in the High Court regarding the disqualification of the candidates who qualified in 2019 on the basis of height, and the single judge ordered that the results of the SI should be withheld after a full-scale investigation. Challenging the order, the state government appealed to the division bench. The state high court has ordered all the petitioners to appear before the court on Monday, saying that the candidates will take their own decision regarding height.
