Nellore: Commissioner Mrs. Haritha said that all the people should be alert to the heavy rains falling across the city and the city administration is ready to face any dire situation. The commissioner along with the officials inspected the condition of main drains, low-lying areas and under bridges in various parts of the city due to heavy rains. Speaking on the occasion, he clarified that the corporation staff are ready to provide services on a war footing in the face of heavy rains.

According to the orders of District Collector Chakradhar Babu, a command control center has been set up in the corporation office and information is being sought from the victims. The Commissioner said that those who have problems in the background of rains should inform the numbers 18004251113, 0861 230 1541 and get appropriate help. The commissioner disclosed that the roads, roads and under bridge areas are being pumped by motors from time to time to prevent rain water from standing and the officials are monitoring all the major areas so that pedestrians and motorists do not face any inconvenience. According to the warnings of the Meteorological Department, the commissioner advised people to avoid dangerous actions like standing near huge trees and touching electric poles. The commissioner appealed to the people of low-lying areas where the flood water is rising to inform the toll free numbers indicated by the corporation.
