Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam held a high-level meeting at the Tirupati Padmavati guest house on Monday amid concerns over the recent movement of cheetahs on the Tirumala walkway and the safety of devotees. Important decisions were taken in the meeting. Explaining the decisions taken by the committee, TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy told the media that only adults will be allowed on the footpath till 10 pm and crutches will be provided to every devotee walking on the footpath. He said that two-wheelers are allowed on Ghat Road only from 6 am to 6 pm. It has been clarified that children are allowed with their parents from 5 am to 2 pm, after that children are allowed on the walkway. Also, it has been decided to send the devotees in groups and advised the devotees not to give any food to the animals on the walkway. He warned that action would be taken if given.

Warning boards:- It is said that signboards, lights will be installed on the walkway to alert the devotees. Warning boards will be installed near Alipiri, Galigopuram and Edo Milstone. He said that the devotees will be made aware of the safety and after the study by the Central Forest Department, a decision will be taken on fencing. He warned that shops in Tirumala should not throw waste and action will be taken against shops leaving waste outside. Those who go on foot will be granted tickets like in the past, and 15 thousand people are currently being given walkways to devotees and they want to check them at the Galigopuram. Darshan tickets given at Bhudevi Complex no longer require checking at Galigopuram, he said.

500 cameras:- It has been decided to use drones for security, 500 cameras will be installed between Tirupati and Tirumala. Drone cameras will also be used where necessary. A month and a half ago, a boy named Kaushik was attacked by a cheetah on the footpath, now Lakshita from Nellore was attacked and killed by a cheetah. He said that all kinds of measures are being taken to prevent such incidents from happening.
