Renigunta-Srikalahasti road

Srikalahasti: A serious road accident took place around 2.30 pm on Sunday, 3 km away from Srikalahasti. Six people died in the accident and another was seriously injured. It is learned that AP39G-3233 Maruti Vertigo car hit the oncoming lorry at Mitta Kandriga on Renigunta – Srikalahasti road while overtaking another vehicle. It is reported that the accident happened because the driver could not control the speed. Among those traveling in the car, six others, including three women, died on the spot. After receiving information about the incident, the police shifted a seriously injured young man named Bharat (22) to Srikalahasti MGM Private Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. C.I Vikram told the media that a case has been registered and investigation is underway. All the dead have been identified by the police as belonging to Vijayawada. The names of the deceased are Ramesh, Narasimha, Akshaya, Rajyalakshmi, Srilatha and Venkata Ramanamma, the police said.
