Article 370 which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir will not come back in future: Ghulam Nabi Azad

Amaravathi: Former senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has clarified that Article 370, which provides special status to Jammu and Kashmir, will not return in future. He stated that some parties are creating misconceptions about Article 370 Kashmiris, but he will not indulge in such misconceptions. Speaking at a public meeting in North Kashmir’s Baramulla on Sunday, he said, “Ghulam Nabi Azad does not want to mislead anyone. I do not want to tell lies to anyone for votes. Article 370 will never come back. It requires a two-thirds majority in Parliament. It is not possible from Kashmir” he said. He said that no party is in a position to bring Article 370, the Congress party is sinking day by day, not to mention the strength of the regional parties. On August 5, 2019, Parliament abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, various political parties in Kashmir have been demanding the amendment of Article 370.
