Heavy rain forecast in next two to three days-IMD
Amaravathi: The IMD said that there are indications of heavy rains in the state in the next two to three days.. Although the current cyclone is not likely to have much impact on Andhra Pradesh, it has revealed that there are chances of strong winds..It appealed to the people to be alert and the fishermen not to go fishing in the sea. As the cyclone formed in the Bay of Bengal is moving towards Odisha and Chhattisgarh, although it will not affect Andhra Pradesh, there is a possibility of gusty winds of 40-50 km per hour along the coast. Officials advised fishermen not to go hunting in the sea. It is said that due to the effect of the wind, there will be widespread rains across the coast, especially in the North Coast district; there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains. Also, moderate to heavy rains are likely to occur here and there in South Coast and Rayalaseema districts. The state government has directed the authorities to be alert as there is a possibility of floods in Krishna and Godavari rivers due to heavy rains.
